The Beginning, The Middle & The End of Menopause
On March 24, 2024, we hosted a workshop on topic of Menopause. For many Black women, conversations about menopause are cloaked in silence or treated as taboo. Yet, this transformative stage of life deserves acknowledgment, understanding, and celebration. That’s why we hosted a groundbreaking workshop designed specifically to empower, educate, and support Black women as they navigate menopause.
Why This Workshop Matters
Menopause is more than just a biological process; it’s a shift that affects physical health, emotional well-being, and even our cultural identity. For Black women, unique health disparities, cultural stigmas, and lack of accessible information can make this transition even more challenging. This workshop addressed issues head-on, providing a safe space to share experiences, ask questions, and learn actionable strategies for thriving during menopause.
Our facilitator for the workshop was an expert in the industry Dr. Dianah T. Lake (also known as Dr. Di) who gave us tips and tools on how to navigate the many stages of Menopause. Whether you are in Menopause or Perimenopause or haven't reached that point in your life, the information she provided was beneficial.
Dr. Di is an emergency medicine physician, best-selling author, speaker, fitness & weight loss coach, menopause wellness expert, autism parent advocate and founder of Dr. Di Fitness. Using her clinical experience as an emergency medicine physician, and her knowledge and expertise as a fitness and weight loss coach, Dr. Di promotes a holistic approach to disease prevention, healthy living, fitness, weight loss, menopause wellness, longevity and overall wellness.
She helps her clients go from feeling drained, exhausted, overwhelmed and overweight to fit, fierce, fiery and fabulous!
